What You'll Be Doing

The Operations Associate is responsible for aiding in driving departmental results for the Operations IRA and Qualified Plans department. This position requires the ability to gain a sound understanding of department subject matter including assisting in performing a variety of entries done manually or by way of Stifel’s eQuest system. Quality control is done through multiple queries, documentation review, and following strict IRS rules and regulations. The Associate begins learning the basics of the IRA department’s functions and terminology. This position will require collaboration among team members to execute on departmental objectives under direct supervision while following established procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Works closely with branch personnel regarding IRA distributions, rollovers, beneficiary claims, divorce-related requests, and other IRA account maintenance.
  • Reviews forms submitted by branch personnel for accuracy and completeness.
  • Images and indexes documents and enters, verifies, and proofreads data, records, reports, and other information.
  • Reviews files, records, and supporting documents to obtain the information needed to respond to requests.
  • Answers telephone calls, directs callers, takes messages, and responds to correspondence as directed.

What You'll Bring

  • Ability to develop a general understanding of industry rules and regulations, as well as Stifel policies applicable to the department.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on minimizing risk to the firm.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-direction, with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage large workloads that fluctuate during high-volume periods.
  • Ability to work independently throughout the day based on performance criteria established by leadership.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum Required: 0-2 years' professional business related experience.

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office products.  #LI-AS1
