What You'll Be Doing

At Stifel, the Equity Capital Markets Analyst is responsible for supporting deal teams across various equity-related transactions, including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Follow-ons, Convertible Notes and Private Placements. The analyst will be responsible for a range of tasks that are essential to the successful execution of these transactions, which includes origination, pricing, structuring, modeling, and execution of all Equity and Equity-Linked offerings.

What We're Looking For

  • Supporting deal teams on all parts of transaction execution.
  • Assist senior bankers in preparation for client engagement, such as pitches and RFPs. 
  • Work closely with other internal teams including industry coverage, sales and trading, syndicate, corporate access, equity research and legal to coordinate on all aspects of existing client management, new business origination and deal execution.
  • Drive analysis for issuer clients, including precedent transactions and shareholder targeting.
  • Draft presentation materials and internal committee memorandums in advance of launching public or private financings.
  • Analyzing trends in the markets, including macro-environment and new issue/secondary.
  • Some travel by car and/or air in conjunction with local, regional and/or national travel, up to 10%.

  • Familiarity with investment banking terms and processes

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
  • Minimum Required: 0-1 year as a business analyst, or related experience in brokerage industry

Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Dealogic and FactSet a plus
