What You'll Be Doing

The Sr Corporate Event Associate works with the Investment Banking, Research, and Institutional Sales departments to coordinate, plan, and execute conferences and conference-related events. During events, they will provide on-site work direction to the Corporate Events Coordinators and other staff members.

What We're Looking For

  • Executes annual conferences and conference-related marketing events for the clients/staff of the Investment Banking, Research, and/or the Institutional Sales divisions under management's authorization.
  • Responsible for assigned conferences and events, including budget, vendor and staff management, etc.
  • Work closely with senior management to solve problems and ensure that all issues are addressed and resolved.
  • Will assist in managing all site logistics, including research and selection, negotiating hotel contracts, creating meeting space usage outlines and schedules, coordinating room sets, equipment selection, overseeing food and beverage, training, and managing on-site staffing, including internal staff, temporary event staff, and independent contractors.
  • Will work with management on non-routine and/or complex problems.
  • Development of all client correspondence, including thematic designs, invitations, and follow-up mailings for assigned conferences.
  • Assists management in managing relationships with vendors, including restaurants, transportation companies, hotels, and on-site staff for the conference/event.
  • Maintains budgets for assigned conferences/events, compares budgets to actuals, and provides analysis for each event to management for review.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing outstanding customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality service standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Team player and ability to work effectively with all levels of the firm.
  • Exceptional ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through with great attention to detail on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while juggling multiple projects
  • Travel by car and/or air with local, regional, and/or national travel, up to 40%, including weekends.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum Required: 4+ years of experience in event planning, preferably in financial services.

Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None.

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Salesforce and MeetMax or similar systems.

Compensation Range

Salary: USD $100,000.00/Yr. - USD $100,000.00/Yr.

Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position. The base salary is one component of Stifel’s overall compensation package for each individual employee.
