What You'll Be Doing

We are seeking a skilled Compliance Officer to execute and oversee regulatory compliance under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer. This role is responsible for directly developing and implementing compliance testing and monitoring programs while supervising broader compliance initiatives across multiple banking functions.

 

As our institution expands into new markets and innovative banking solutions, the Compliance Officer will play a hands-on role in ensuring adherence to evolving regulations, while also guiding teams and helping to shape compliance strategies. Additionally, this position serves as a trusted business line partner, providing expert advice and consultation to internal stakeholders on compliance matters, helping to navigate regulatory complexities while supporting business growth. Experience in fund and venture banking is a plus, as we continue to diversify our financial offerings.

What We're Looking For

  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Ensure credit card, deposit, treasury management, commercial lending, mortgage, and marketing activities comply with Regulation Z (TILA), Fair Lending Laws (ECOA, FHA), Truth in Savings Act (TISA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance Testing & Monitoring: Develop and execute risk-based compliance testing and monitoring programs to proactively identify regulatory gaps, reduce risk, and ensure adherence to policies.
  • Regulation Z Compliance: Oversee disclosure requirements, advertising rules, and loan origination compliance under TILA to ensure transparency in lending practices.
  • Risk-Based Monitoring: Implement continuous monitoring of transactions, policies, and procedures to detect potential compliance risks.
  • Strategic Compliance Support: Adapt compliance frameworks to support existing and new financial products including fund and venture banking initiatives, as required.
  • Training & Education: Assist with developing and providing guidance and training to business line staff on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed and infographic compliance reports for regulators and senior management.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with legal, risk management, credit card, deposit, commercial lending, treasury management, mortgage, and venture banking teams to ensure comprehensive compliance.

What You'll Bring

  • Understand and comply with all regulations, including the Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, etc.
  • Understands and complies with industry regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Truth in Savings, Regulation E and D, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth-in-Lending laws, etc.
  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act as well as all other laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules that pertain to the banking industry.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of resources.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, 10 or more years of directly relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum Required: 5+ years' in banking compliance, with a focus on credit card, deposits, mortgage, and commercial lending regulations. Experience in fund and venture banking is highly desirable.

Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or the ability to obtain within one year of employment. 

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
