What You'll Be Doing

The Retirement Benefits Manager manages and administers retirement benefit programs within the organization. They will analyze the 401(k) retirement plan, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and company policies. The Manager will guide and support employees regarding retirement plan options, eligibility, and enrollment and work closely with internal and external committees and third-party vendors.

What We're Looking For

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Firm's 401(k) plan and financial benefit programs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of retirement plan contributions, enrollments, loans, distributions, and associate inquiries.
  • Ensure retirement plans comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, IRS guidelines, and DOL requirements.
  • Responsible for nondiscrimination testing, external and internal audits, Form 5500's, and updates to plan documents.
  • Develop audit protocols for all retirement programs and establish a regular audit schedule.
  • Maintain a report of audit findings and corrections, oversee corrections, and recommend changes to established procedures as required.
  •  Liaise with third-party administrators, legal counsel, investment providers, and retirement plan service providers.
  • Assess vendor performance regularly and collaborate to resolve issues and ensure seamless administration.
  • Participate actively in the Administrative and Investment Committees by providing support to monitor and benchmark retirement plan performance, fees, and expenses.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in managing retirement benefit programs with a strong focus on compliance and strategy.
  • In-depth knowledge of retirement benefit laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of eligibility, enrollment, contribution, match, forfeitures, testing, correction, and plan documents.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • High degree of integrity, sensitivity, and professionalism in dealing with confidential information and issues.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience with benefits management, focusing on retirement plan administration.
  • Experience with M&A experience, including analysis of material liabilities, benefit comparisons, plan terminations, and 401(k) mergers.
  • Experience with Investment Committees and Administrative Committees.

  • None

Systems & Technology

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Microsoft Excel.
